The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is one of my favorite books. 

...I just finished rereading it the other day, 

and was struck by how much some of the lessons taught in the book really echo the lessons in The Wizard of Oz.

...Particularly the bits about belief in personal power and finding what you're looking for in your own backyard.

I've been meaning to feature Glenda's lovely words of wisdom
for some time now,
and now just seems like the perfect time!!
