It's another winter day featuring light rain and a sky full of colorful clouds...

...just perfect for an afternoon of Friday Flower Pick-ing!!

This dazzling, yellow blossom looked so pretty enjoying a shower 

as I studied it from under my umbrella...

...and I'm so enjoying watching my little world get washed clean!!

Alice is a theme that often appears in my everyday dress...

...and my fashion line too!!

In celebration of Lewis Carroll's birthday this week, I've been reflecting on some of the many ways his stories have influenced my work...

...and I've been having a blast re-watching the Disney classic and even attending a lecture on his life and work!!

Mermaid Monday : Picture Perfect Beach Day

 The picture perfect beach day we enjoyed yesterday

is now a fond memory...

as a light rain comes down on a serene Mermaid Monday!!

I adore rainy days...and in my opinion, 

 they're the best when filled with sewing, crocheting, and audiobooks!!

...And after getting my fill of sand and sun on a Sunday Funday (yesterday)
...that's how I'm spending this glorious day=)!!

Friday Flower Pick : Daisy Delights

It's a Happy Friday indeed, when the day starts off with a vibrant burst of fuchsia, yellow, and green!!

...I spotted these sweet little blossoms around town early this morning

while on the hunt for a perfect late-January Friday Flower Pick...

 Honorable mention goes to these teeny, 

colorful flowers I've been enjoying around town too!!

It's still a crisp 50° when I head out for my morning strolls...

...but everywhere, tiny specks of spring color are starting to speckle the way!!

On Island Time : My Catalina Getaway

Greetings from the lovely city of Avalon on Catalina Island!!

...a place perfectly suited for a mermaid in need of a little relaxation and refreshment!!

From pretty sunrises, to strolls along quaint streets, to undersea adventures...

Catalina Island has it all!!

Located just 23 miles from the mainland, it's a destination so accessible,

 yet it feels worlds away.

It's friendly, charming, picturesque, and full of fun activities!!

This makes a dozen visits for me over the years...

...and I love it more every time!!

Things I Love : Cuteness Overload

 

Miniature decorations have tickled my fancy in a big way!!

To unwind in the evening these days, 

you'll find me glittering the roof of a birdhouse,

painting a very mini work of art, or having fun with a travel size coloring book!!

Not to mention, I'm excitedly flipping the pages on my Mary Engelbreit Just Be calendar each morning, for an extra dose of artistic inspriation!!

...I'm on cuteness overload!!

...And what could be cuter than a sweetly painted Russain doll?
