Friday Flower Pick : Pansies in the Rain

If me thinks a storm be brewin'...I'm on my way=)!!...
...On my way to the nearest, sweetest little bed of pansy flowers, freshly planted and with cheerful faces upturned to the most interesting of cloudscapes. 

How lovely to be a pretty pansy in the rain today!! 
...But being a flower photographer in the rain is pretty fabulous too=)!!

Friday Flower Pick : After the Rain, Roses

Many a rose bloom has been splashed across the pages of my blog over the last couple of years of Friday Flower Pick-ing...

And each of those rose-filled moments had its own special magic for me...
Maybe it was the intoxicating fragrance of one specimen, or the otherworldly hue of another!!

Or perhaps it was the way the rose played with the rain, or the sunshine...or in the instance of today's citrusy-hued find...it was both!!

I caught this orange-you-glad-it's-Friday beauty just as the first sunlight filtered through its petals, after a morning shower.

This week of raindrop-speckled-sunshine has confirmed that my favorite weather is when you need both heart-shaped sunglasses and an umbrella!!

Friday Flower Pick : Camellia in the Rain

Luckily, the most wonderful time of the year is quickly followed up by one of my other most favorite times of the year: Camellia Season!! Isn't it lovely that these flowers burst into bloom in the middle of winter?! Of course, it's a Southern California winter I'm talking about...but it seems miraculous to me just the same!! 

Grey winter skies, and this year's frequent rain showers, set the stage perfectly for the dramatic display of gorgeous blossoms I'm discovering at every turn. 

Beautifully ruffled petals and candy-colored flowers make for a dreamy January scene, echoing Wonderland!!

Friday Flower Pick : Lake Shrine Finds

After the holiday hustle, I'm craving a little nature and serenity...and I'm finding it right in my own backyard!! Gorgeous winter weather and a free afternoon were just the inspiration I needed to head off and out to a few of my favorite Los Angeles spots to breathe deeply. 

The first stop was Will Rogers State Park for a gloriously sunny hike, complete with spectacular ocean views!!

Then it was time for a little meditation at the Center for Self Realization, where Friday Flowers were plentiful...and peace of mind, easy to find!!

Friday Flower Pick : H♥T on the Trail

Early December usually means I'm hot on the trail of some seriously pretty pinks!! There are those brilliant pink, purple, 'n blue Santa Monica sunrises that start the day...
Soft and sweet camellias that speckle the sidewalks all along the way...
And how about a surprising splash of hot pink in a local rose garden as the icing on the Christmas cookie?!
