Friday Flower Pick : Candy Pink Violas

How the summer sidewalks abound with cheerful splashes of colorful annuals these hot 'n sunny July days!!

And a sunlit patch of pretty-faced violas is a common enough sighting among them, but oh, what an enchanting shade of candy colored pink I discovered and snapped up for today's Friday Flower Pick.

For now, I'm calling the color candy pink while I'm busy dreaming up a more suitable name for the it. 
...I'm thinking something perfectly evocative and sweet, like French macaron.

Mermaid Monday : Choker Necklaces

90's inspired choker necklaces are my current fashion obsession, especially in lovely black velvet and with a chunky pendant on display!!

I'm loving them now to dress up cropped tops and other casual summer looks, and I'm expecting my infatuation to grow come autumn, when pairing them with lace up boots and anything long sleeved and Victorian themed.

Friday Flower Pick : Frangipani

For some time now, the frangipani has eluded me...
I'd spot a strikingly beautiful specimen somewhere, but she'd always somehow be just out of my camera's reach. More than once, I'd even found her tropical flowers scattered about a sidewalk...but no frangipani tree in sight.

So imagine my delight upon discovering three frangipani trees in a local park over the weekend, displaying the first promises of the magnificent tropical blooms to come...
...And sure enough, just in time for a Friday Flower Pick amble, the gorgeous frangipani trees bloomed into a dazzling sight of creamy white and buttery yellow flowers, set against a bright blue California sky!!

Mermaid Monday : Hawaiian Stylin'

Turning a corner to see a burst of 

blooming hot pink and bright orange hibiscus flowers...

...is just one of the many tropical delights of the season, 

indicative of a summer in full swing!!

My latest beach-ready, floral print turban (in classy 'n cool rayon jersey knit), 

captures a bit of the Hawaiian spirit...

...blending it with a touch of joie de vivre, 

and sprinkling it with a dash of mermaid magic!!

...Summer hair is a wrap!!

Friday Flower Pick : Pink Cosmos

Cosmos are one of those old fashioned summer delights-
like hand carved carousels, ice cream parlors,
and picnic baskets lined with gingham...

And just a glimpse of them and their lacy foliage, sprinkled about a jumbled cottage garden,
takes me back to those carefree moments
that summer day dreams are made of!!

On this very modern, yet beautifully warm and sunny day, I had just such a sighting of those old fashioned darlings!!

Dainty and long legged pink cosmos, with their out-of-this-world beauty and charm, proved an irresistible lure for me...
And the dozens of dazzling butterflies that fluttered about the Santa Monica community gardens seeming equally lured=)!!
