...What a perfectly fitting and charming name for this beautiful specimen!!

I was delighted to meet her this morning, in her full glory, 

just as the last of the May/June roses were fluttering to the ground!!

Whether in a fresh burst of a bloom, or in a carpet of curling fairy boats, 

her peppermint colors and sweetly perfumed petals are a refreshing breath of summer air!! 

...And what's more?!! I'm suddenly feeling a bit of a Christmas in July mood coming on=)!!

Santa Monica Carousel Celebrates 100 Years

Happy Birthday to the Santa Monica Carousel,
which celebrated 100 years yesterday!!

The celebration included 5 cent rides on the painted ponies under a canopy of twinkling lights, and tours of the historic Carousel Apartments...Wouldn't I have loved to live there!!

And the thing I'm still dreaming about?! 

The limited edition Brass Ring Sundae!!
Hot fudge, caramel sauce, potato chips, and ice cream?! Yes please!!

No trip to the pier would be complete without a spin on the Ferris Wheel too!!

A head full of wonderful Sunday Funday memories makes for a

Friday Flower Pick : June Blooms

From gigantic, sun-shiny, orange-yellow sunflowers,

Friday Flower Pick : Pink 'n Purple Hydrangeas

Bursting into beautiful, bountiful bloom...

and just in time to brighten up a misty, June-gloomy sky...

The pink 'n purple hydrangeas are at it again!!

Mother Nature really shows off her color arrangement expertise 

when pairing those pretty pastel petals with vibrant, limey-green foliage!!

I'm taking note and splashing sprinkles of these splendid hydrangeas- and their magical, early summer color palette- all around my collection!!
