Friday Flower Pick : First Flowering Trees

One of the nicest things about living in L.A. is, 

in February, when you first get an inkling that you would love to see some signs of spring...

the weather turns gloriously warm, sunny, and breezy, 

and the trees suddenly burst into bloom!!

It all starts with these gorgeous white pear tree blossoms...

...looking so lovely and ethereal as their falling petals flutter around you as you breeze by!!

The flowers are paper thin and translucent in the sunshine, 

and I'm enchanted by the contrast between the dark branches, creamy white blooms, and light blue sky!!
