Friday Flower Pick : Moody Blooms

They're so different from the bright and cheerful roses of spring and summer gardens...

I found these fuchsia blooms tucked quietly under an evergreen shrub, looking gorgeous and thoughtful...

and maybe a tiny bit moody too.

Just the kind of thing you might expect to stumble upon in an enchanted forest or a wonderland twilight.

Reflections on the Last Day of Summer

As I'm taking in the final sunset of a beautiful summer season,

I'm counting my blessings and all the golden moments I've had over the last few months.

There were Monday evenings spent splashing at the pool, visits from family, a festive 4th of July, harbour cruises around Marina del Rey, lots of summer sewing, and countless sunrises, subsets, and photo expeditions too!!

I thought these images I captured this afternoon, summed it all up perfectly!!

Mermaid Monday : Fall on the Horizon

Fall may still be technically waiting in the wings, 

but I definitely caught a glimpse of her yesterday, quite unexpectedly!!

...It was just a few minutes after sunrise as I was strolling through the park...

She was simply dazzling, arrayed in sparkly dew drops, long green grass, and crispy, fallen leaves...

Fall's much anticipated debut means that at Mademoiselle Mermaid, there'll be new crochet patterns ready for release (stay tuned for a lacy collar pattern to drop this week!),

classic and fresh leg warmer designs are happening...

and there will be lots of lace 'n velvet items popping up en shoppe too=)
